Useful Links
We've collected up Light Sport Aircraft and Sport Pilot links
that we find useful.
Let us know if you think of a link that should be included
here.
Weather & Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs)
- ADDS
-- NOAA's Aviation Weather Center or Aviation Digital Data Service
(ADDS). This site gives you access to the same information
Flight Service Stations use to provide official weather briefings.
- NavMonster
-- a new to us site that is quickly becoming our favorite. It
has everything you need in one location and you don't have to do any
Zulu to local time conversions.
-
Ultralight Weather -- this site is provided by USAirnet.com.
It is provides an excellent graphical display of weather products of
particular interest to light aircraft pilots. Make sure you
check out the "Winds Aloft" button at the bottom of the page.
-
Balloonists'
Winds Forecast -- since balloonists need very accurate winds
aloft data this is a great place to find out what the winds are
going to be like below 3000 feet (the lowest elevation given in the
winds aloft forecast).
-
Windmapper
-- this is a website I just found out about (5/17/2012) that gives
detailed ground wind forecasts for selected areas. Move you
mouse cursor over the wind arrows to see detailed forecasts for that
area.
- Weather to
Fly -- is a collection of weather links used by many light sport
pilots.
-
FAA's Graphical TFR Map -- a graphical representation of TFRs
throughout the country.
