Pilot Training Rates

Precision Windsports offers competitive training rates with training in state of the art AirBorne XT-912s or in your own new AirBorne trike. Our XT-912s are FAA registered so that your time in our trainers counts towards you FAA Sport Pilot certificate.

Red XT-912 Tourer Our basic training rate is $150/hour flight training (discounted to $125/hr for bookings of 3 days or more -- see below for details) and $75/hr for ground. Lessons average 1.5 to 2 hours (30 minutes ground and 60-90 minutes flight). Our instructor is a FAA Certified Sport Pilot instructor (SP-CFI) and a Sport Pilot Instructor Examiner (SFIE).

We have an outstanding training area in our part of south central Virginia (mountains, lakes, rivers, plains, multiple airport environments, mild weather, etc.) and highly recommend you come to us for training. It is cheaper and gets you away from the distractions of your home environment allowing you to focus on your training.

The rates below are subject to change without notice. If the rates below differ from the rate provided in a quote from PWS and the quote has not expired, the quote takes precedence.

Service	Rate
Introductory Flight	$75 for 20 minutes / $150 for 1 hour
Flight Training	$150/hr flight training (one day bookings minimum) and $75/hr ground time. Book 3 or more consecutive days (Mon-Sat only) and receive a $25/hr discount for flight training.
Sport Pilot Proficiency and Practical Test Prep	$150/hr for flight training and $75/hr for ground. Expect 3 hours of flight training (required by FAA) and 2-3 hours of ground.
Sport Pilot Proficiency Checkride	$375 for the test plus $130/hr for the aircraft.
Sport PIlot Practical Test	$375 for the test plus $130/hr for the aircraft.
SP-CFI Proficiency Checkride	$450 for the test plus $130/hr for the aircraft.
SP-CFI Practical Test	$450 for the test plus $130/hr for the aircraft.
